Hello from New Mexico
I hadn't seen the ground since last November. Don't mention the sun. It's been a real winter out east. So Meagan and I loaded up the Outback, the dogs, and a duffel bag of Best Made and headed west.
According to the locals, it's been an exceptionally mild winter here in Santa Fe. The only snow we've seen was at about 10,500 feet, on the drive up into the Sangre de Cristos. Putting aside all the environmental implications, it's a great time to be here.
New Mexico is endlessly rewarding—the weather, the food, the colors, the people, the crafts, the history, the fires, the phones. It's also a great place to showcase our warm weather apparel. But before we embark on that, I wanted to just set the stage.
Since we landed I've spent most of my downtime on my feet, walking around—something we don't get to do this time of year back home. On my rambles I've met some wonderful people, and reconnected with some old friends. We walked Georgia O'Keeffe's home and studio in Abiquiú. We walked the Dale Ball trail to Picacho Peak. And we walked along the thirsty Santa Fe River. I'm excited to share some of the things I've seen along the way.—PB-S
