For the first time, our axe bears the Best Made trademark X and the blacksmith's initials, both deep-forged into their heads.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eColor is the hallmark of so many Best Made designs, and the axe's warm golden hue is no trick of the lens but the result of the delicate tempering process and heat-treating of this 4lb 1060 high-carbon steel head. Straight-grain Appalachian hickory forms the handle, while a walnut wedge securely fastens the head.
