The Camping Tent
The Camping Tent
The latest issue in the Collection Typologie series, The Camping Tent sits the tent halfway between architecture and furniture and traces it across its many lives: descendant of the primitive hut and the military encampment, vehicle for both leisure and refuge, precarious and resistant, protective and porous. The first 88 pages present an objective visual survey of 55 tents from around the world. The second section opens with an introduction by industrial designer Sina Sohrab and a three-way interview with historian and sociologist Olivier Sirost, Ferrino director Anna Ferrino (whose family company is the oldest tent maker in Europe), and outdoor-gear designer Raphaël Têtedoie, alongside a photo report from a Chinese factory, archival material, and a photographic series by Anaick Lejart and Marine Armandin.
Already hard to find, the title is effectively out of print at most stockists; we were fortunate to secure the last 30 copies.
Edited by the Collection Typologie team, with texts by Sina Sohrab, Olivier Sirost, Anna Ferrino, and Raphaël Têtedoie. Published in September 2025 by Collection Typologie. 136 pages, softcover, illustrated throughout.
