Product Details
Nogent has made knives and kitchen tools since 1923 in its namesake town in France’s Champagne region, long a center of French cutlery. The company still makes everything there, and it holds the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) designation, the French state’s recognition of exceptional traditional craftsmanship.
The blade is Nogent’s own steel, a stainless alloy with added carbon and molybdenum for hardness and corrosion resistance. It is ground thin and hand-sharpened, and its edge carries four teeth per millimeter, roughly 100 per inch. That density lets the serrations cut cleanly through soft skins rather than tearing them, as a coarse bread-knife edge would. The handle is polypropylene, a dense, food-safe material that won’t absorb water, swell, or crack.

Dishwasher safe. For the longest edge life, wash by hand, dry it, and store it where the blade won’t knock against other tools. The micro-serrated edge is designed to stay sharp without sharpening, and it shouldn’t be run through a standard sharpener.
